WK wielrennen in Vlaanderen zoekt vrijwilligers (m/v/x)

Maar geen koers zonder vrijwilligers! Om van de 100e verjaardag van het WK wielrennen een grandioos feest te maken, is de organisatie op zoek naar méér dan 2000 vrijwilligers per dag. De slogan van dit WK in Vlaanderen - Flanders, where champions are born - slaat immers niet alleen op de renners. Elke vrijwilliger die dit evenement mee tot stand doet komen, is een kampioen!

Voel je je geroepen? Al wie een hart heeft voor de koers en zin heeft in vrijwilligerswerk, is meer dan welkom: jong en oud, of je nu langs het parcours woont of wat verder weg. Het is een unieke kans om dichtbij huis deel uit te maken van één van de grootste sportevenementen ter wereld. Voor studenten kan het ook een bijzondere eerste werkervaring zijn die misschien het begin is van meer.

Wat zoeken we? Van chauffeurs en stewards, over logistieke medewerkers tot ondersteuning bij het onthaal. Dit zijn de taken die zeker moeten ingevuld worden:

• Chauffeurs;
• Seingevers en parking stewards die het WK letterlijk in goede banen leiden;
• Service team vrijwilligers voor de opbouw, afbraak en logistieke ondersteuning bij de aankomst en finish en in de fanzones;
• Green team vrijwilligers die graag de handen uit de mouwen steken om het evenement zo ecologisch mogelijk te laten verlopen;
• Administratieve ondersteuning – accreditatie, info & onthaal om gasten te ontvangen en wegwijs maken tijdens het WK.

Enthousiasme en engagement voor één van de beschreven taken, zijn de belangrijkste kenmerken waaraan een kandidaat-vrijwilliger moet voldoen. Ook clubs en verenigingen zijn welkom. Cycling is coming home, experience it and become a volunteer on the UCI Road World Championships!

Nowhere else is cycling more alive than here, 365 days a year. It is therefore an honour and a pleasure to be able to welcome and experience the 100th anniversary edition of the Road World Championships in 2021 in our own country. From Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 September 2021 it promises to be an absolutely fantastic 9-day cycling festival, from Knokke-Heist to Bruges and from Antwerp to Leuven.

During these World Championships we hope to support as many compatriots as possible to victory on our typically Flemish roads with a high Flandrien factor: steep inclines, twists and turns, pushing over the cobblestones and riding through every kind of weather. It’s where "our" great stars such as Wout, Remco, Greg, Jolien and many other fellow countrymen are given the opportunity to write history and make that one dream come true as a pro: to wear the coveted rainbow jersey in front of their own people.

But no race without volunteers! To make this global cycling event a magnificent celebration, we are looking for more than 2000 volunteers per day. For this we can definitely use your talent and enthusiasm to perform one of the following tasks during the World Championships:

• Administrative support
• Accreditation
• Service Team
• Parking steward
• Infodesk & Welcome
• Buildup/Break-down
• …..
