A lot of new faces were present at the 2nd edition of the SPACE festival, which shows that the creative community in the Leuven MindGate region is growing. There were different showcases of creative entrepreneurs in 12 different subsectors, going from architecture over music to comics.

The attendees got the opportunity to enjoy the different showcases, but also the magnificent location. The Predikherenkerk is the oldest gothical church in Leuven, dating back to 1234. Even the beer was 'homemade Leuven style', you wouldn't expect anything else, would you?

Mayor Mohamed Ridouani also paid a visit to the SPACE festival and emphasized the importance of the creative sector as a economic pillar of the Leuven MindGate region. The city of Leuven premiered its 'Leuven Maakstad' movie, which shows 6 Leuven-based craftsmen and their workshops.

Together with Flanders DC, different 'sofa sessions' were organised for creative entrepreneurs 'to be'. This group of enthusiastic young people reacted very positively to the knowledge exchange and the impressions they were able to capture at the SPACE festival.

In 2020, the SPACE festival will not be organized separately, but will be incorporated in the And& Festival.
