Gazelles are fast-growing companies, moreover they are an integral part of our economic landscape. These competitive companies have a positive influence on the business climate in their region. They are power sources of innovation and employment. The Trends Gazellen are labeled as an inspiring role model for other companies, and are awarded by the business magazine Trends.

A Trends Gazellen award is cherished by the business world because of its national renown and regional recognition.

You become a Trends Gazelle on the basis of hard growth figures:

  • growth in added value
  • growth in personnel
  • growth in cash flow

Materialise awarded as Supergazelle

For the twentieth anniversary of the Trends Gazelles, this year the fastest growing company of the past twenty years is also awarded the Supergazelle. In Flemish Brabant, this is Leuven-based Materialise, active in the 3D printing industry.

"The timing of the Supergazelle trophy could not be better," laughs chief technology officer Bart Van der Schueren. "For our strategy, we work with five-year cycles. The previous one ended in 2020 and had the challenge of growing by an average of 20 percent annually. We have succeeded nicely in this and we therefore consider this award to be our final diploma." Sustainability is the strategic challenge for the current cycle that runs until 2025.
