CommScope celebrates its 50th birthday
This weekend, CommScope Belgium celebrated its 50th anniversary. An 'open day' for employees and family was topped off with a festive party in the Brabanthal.
CommScope Belgium, located in Kessel-Lo and a Premium Gold Member of Leuven MindGate, celebrated its 50th anniversary on December 15.
It all started in 1969, when Raychem--the name of the company at the time--moved to Kessel-Lo, close to the University of Leuven and the Zaventem airport. Specialized in products for the telecommunications industry, the company grew to become a leader in its field with currently over 550 employees on site and customers all over the world.
Many new products, some of which have become a standard in the industry, have been developed and built in Kessel-Lo. The R&D department continues to be at the forefront of cutting edge developments with well over 1000 patents registered over the past 50 years.
The company name changed several times, from Raychem to Tyco and Tyco Electronics, TE Connectivity and finally it became CommScope, which acquired TE Connectivity’s telecom, enterprise, and wireless business in 2015.
On December 15, CommScope Belgium opened its doors for its employees and their families and ended the celebration with a big party at the Brabanthal.
Today, CommScope (NASDAQ: COMM) helps design, build, and manage wired and wireless networks around the world. As a communications infrastructure leader, they shape the always-on networks of tomorrow. For more than 40 years, their global team of more than 20,000 employees, innovators, and technologists have empowered customers in all regions of the world to anticipate what’s next and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
