Comate is winner of SME of the Year 2019 for Flemish Brabant and Brussels

Comate is a mechatronical engineering and design company, located in the center of Leuven. It connects engineering and design, by providing technical expertise and quality, with an eye for detail and design. Together with their clients, the diverse team of engineers and designers create novel products and machinery.

Sander Van den Dries, Director Comate Engineering & Design: “In my opinion, the title of the award can be changed, from SME of the Year to Team of the Year. It’s incredible to see the speed with which our team can reinvent themselves in a world where technology is moving so fast. It is unseen how these experts give their all, every day, to make that product a success. Putting a product on the market is difficult. Every day, we wake up thinking about how we can increase the chances at success for our clients.

About SME of the Year

SME of the Year is a prestigious award, organized to inspire and stimulate healthy entrepreneurship and to emphasize the essential role of SME’s in Belgium. The SME award of the Year is organized by UNIZO and its partners, Liantis, Agentschap voor innoveren en ondernemen, KBC, Proximus, PwC and TNT.

Companies that have been active for less than five years can enter the competition to become ‘Promising SME of the Year’. Different aspects, such as innovation, personnel policy, ecology, marketing, …, are taken into account by the independent jury and the partners to decide on who will become (Promising) SME of the Year.
