Baker Tilly signs for worldwide rebranding and Belgian growth of 50% during the past 5 years

24 March 2019

The 126 members of Baker Tilly International with 34.713 employees in 145 countries got, by the end of January, a new visual identity and an uniform brand name. So did the 6 Belgian Baker Tilly offices in Alost, Ghent, Zele, Mechelen, Brussels and Liege. The group of Belgian independent firms has ended 2018 with a revenue of 16.6 mln euro and with a new strategic operating office near Antwerp.

New visual identity

The Belgian division of Baker Tilly has multidisciplinary teams in accountancy, audit, tax and legal consultancy and corporate finance for one-man businesses, liberal professionals, family businesses, international companies and non-profit organisations. “We needed a new worldwide visual identity and brand positioning that fits the forward-looking and personalized client approach of our network and the way we want to be perceived”, says Wim Van De Walle, one of the 14 Belgian partners. “As a network which grows organically with its clients and is fully committed in digital development tools, international exchange of knowhow and high-tech financial models”.

The local client benefits from this without any additional charges. The client also benefits from the international guidance in terms of M&A, the creation of a foreign affiliate or the purchase of foreign corporate real estate. But Baker Tilly remains sufficiently small to provide personal and custom-made services at a reasonable and local price.

Organic growth

The new Baker Tilly-logo symbolizes the growth pattern that can be found in the nature, more specific in the (aging)circles of a tree. “This reflects a win-win. We always grow with our clients thanks to our flexible, open, involved and personal approach, supported by multidisciplinary teams and our global network”, says Peter Weyers, Baker Tilly partner.

Organic growth has been a constant at the Belgian division of Baker Tilly, now 30 years active as a mid-size office. In 2018, Baker Tilly, as the only one in the category of ‘accountants, bookkeeping and tax advisors’, was granted the title of ‘Trends Gazelle’ and was one of the 75 fastest growing mid-size companies in East-Flanders. During the past 5 years, revenue grew with 50%, mainly in the accountancy and consultancy divisions, by responding to digitisation and hands-on tax advice.

The creation of the corporate finance department resulted in growth in the M&A, company transfer and succession planning segments. In 2018, consolidated revenue reached 16.6 mln euro and already 2019 already seems to become a top year. At the end of 2018, Baker Tilly’s 6th Belgium office was established through a partnership with the audit firm Caluwaerts & Co in Mechelen. This not only implies access to greater Mechelen but also provides a strategic and operational location to serve the entire Antwerp region.

Baker Tilly is a group of Belgian companies that, since 1988, are specialised in accountancy, audit, corporate consulting (tax & legal) and corporate finance (with guidance in all stages of the sale or merger of an own/different company). With its multidisciplinary teams, the group offers proactive custom-made and integrated services and solutions for ever more complex processes with important financial implications for SMEs.

The group counts 145 employees comprising 14 partners, based in Alost, Ghent (Melle), Zele, Mechelen, Brussels and Liege. Baker Tilly is an official service provider for the SME e-wallet.
