KU Leuven ranked best Belgian university in QS World University Rankings

According to QS World University Rankings, a yearly ranking of universities based on their excellence in certain areas, KU Leuven ranks first when it comes to universities in Belgium.

The researchers investigated the scores for 48 different fields of study. This data was collected from over 30 million students, their parents, policy makers and career consultants in 2017.

KU Leuven ranks 8th for theology and religious studies and ranks 9th in dentistry compared to other universities around the world. Moreover, KU Leuven also houses 18 of the 26 Belgian top-50 fields of study. An increase of 7 fields of study compared to last year.

Fields of study in which KU Leuven excels include classical languages, pharmacy, psychology, sport related studies, geography, philosophy, library science and information technology, law, pedagogy, history, political and social science, development studies, statistics, anatomy and physiology, architecture and materials science.

Internationally, the British universities Cambridge and Oxford top the list, followed by US-based Berkeley, Harvard, Stanford and MIT.
