What you will do

As a Windows Solution Specialist, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and securing new and existing Windows solutions within our ICT environment. You play a key role in improving operational processes and ensuring a secure and stable infrastructure. Additionally, you work closely with supporting partners, and the IT security team to ensure all solutions meet the highest security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture:
    • Design new solutions and enhance existing Windows infrastructures.
    • Provide technical expertise and support for architectural decisions, collaborating with enterprise architects and other teams.
    • Document and standardize designs to simplify future implementations.
  • Implementation and Management:
    • Lead the implementation of new systems and upgrades in the Windows environment.
    • Optimize the performance, availability, security and reliability of Windows systems.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Security:
    • Implement 'security by design' in all solutions.
    • Work closely with the IT security team to identify and address security risks.
    • Assist in handling security incidents and conduct proactive security reviews.
  • Budget: Take ownership of the budget within the domain, ensuring cost-effective decisions while aligning investments with business priorities and technological advancements.
  • Operational Support:
    • Resolve complex incidents and technical challenges within the Windows environment. (3rd line)
    • Ensure timely and effective problem-solving during operational disruptions.
    • Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues to continuously improve the team.

Who you are

Extensive experience with:

  • Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Active Directory (management and migrations).
  • Virtualization platforms such as VMware or AHV.
  • Storage solutions and integration with Windows environments.
  • Database systems, including SQL and Oracle. (optional)
  • Automation and configuration management (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.).
  • Experience in designing and managing high-availability and failover solutions.
  • Strong focus on IT security and compliance: experience with hardening, patch management, and auditing tools.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (including external parties)
