Researcher for E-Textiles and Wearables
Research on e-textiles and wearables for smart gloves and sensing suits
What you will do
- You will perform research on microsystems, e-textiles, flexible printed electronics, stretchable electronics, wearables in the frame of R&D projects with a focus on smart gloves and sensing suits.
- Your research tasks will include (electronics) design, realisation, evaluation of microsystem technologies for the integration of electronics in wearables / textiles. You will realise prototypes and further tune them in function of performance evaluations.
- Monitor state-of-the-art of e-textile / wearable / stretchable / printed electronics developments to steer the research and find research opportunities.

Who you are
- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in engineering, electronics engineering, textile engineering, materials engineering, biomedical engineering.
- You have experience in research on e-textiles / printed electronics / wearables including design, fabrication, reliability testing, failure analysis of electronic systems compatible for textile integration / wearables.
- You have experience in working on research projects with industry.
- You have experience in disseminating research results, by publishing papers in peer reviewed journals and presenting conference papers at international conferences.
- You can read, write and speak fluently in English and have strong interdisciplinary communication skills.
- You have a creative and problem-solving mindset.
