Sector

Electronics & Engineering

What you will do

  • Work in the Device Characterization Department as a Device Engineer.
  • Perform detailed electrical characterization of MOS transistors, focusing on advanced logic flows, including nanosheet device architectures, Gate-All-Around structures, and other advanced designs.
  • Collaborate with the TCAD and Compact Model teams to link electrical characterization data with simulation results, improving the accuracy of device models.
  • Develop and optimize characterization methods to improve the consistency, uniformity, and stability of MOS transistor performance.
  • Conduct module synergy activities: work on transistor modules used across multiple programs at imec, determining the optimal processes and conditions for consistent and effective results.
  • Support legacy technology improvement and tech transfer: enhance the performance and stability of 28nm and beyond technology flows. Facilitate technology transfers to customer sites, expanding imec’s impact within the semiconductor industry.
  • Explain and discuss electrical characterization techniques and results with external customers, providing clear and concise responses to inquiries.
  • Set up and carry out development plans, including defining the design of experiments, in-line characterization strategies, processing follow-up in the imec pilot line, and analyzing and discussing incoming data.
  • Discuss process splits with characterization and process step development engineers, implementing splits into the process flow and ensuring follow-up in imec's 300mm FAB.
  • Utilize industry experience to window and corner test modules, establishing optimal device designs that work across major program families.
  • Perform electrical characterization for Back-End-Of-Line (BEOL) and Middle-Of-Line (MOL) processes, ensuring comprehensive device performance analysis and optimization.

What we do for you

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will determine the society of tomorrow.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility.
