Community Manager - Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering

Leuven MindGate vzw is the beating innovation community of the Leuven innovation Region. More than 430 member organizations (start-ups, large established innovative companies, research institutions, and local policymakers) connect through our collaboration platform. Together, we keep the Leuven Innovation Region at the head of Europe’s innovation peloton. We build bridges between Health & Life Sciences, Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering, Digital & AI, and their supporting services.

We’re looking for a Community Manager to lead and energize our Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering community. This community brings together organizations active in nanotechnology, semiconductors, mechatronics, HardTech, and related fields such as advanced materials, photonics, and robotics.

What you’ll do

As our Community Manager, you are the driving force among our members active in Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering, more concretely …

• You maintain and deepen relationships with the bright minds and innovative organizations in the domain (including imec, KU Leuven, Flanders Make, Sirris, Commscope, Siemens, Materialise, Comate, TMC, Hexagon, Septentrio, Sew-Eurodrive, Innoptus Solar Team and many others).
• You spot and attract new innovators in the field, convincing them to join our community.
• You initiate and coordinate events that strengthen the community, inspired by an expert group that you regularly convene and lead.
• Together with that expert group, you identify challenges in the field and set up projects that tackle these challenges locally with a strong buy-in of the key stakeholders.
• You are the eyes and ears of this domain and you know better than anyone what’s moving.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate…

• has minimum a bachelor's degree of equivalent
• has minimum 3+ years of working experience in a related field
• is fluently in Dutch & English
• is not necessarily a technical expert in the domain, but has a strong, proven affinity and interest with the field of Deep Tech & Advanced Engineering
• has a commercial flair, is a natural connector who brings people together and inspires trust
• is a born organizer with an eye for detail and a great sense of timing
• is a true intrapreneur, taking initiative and thriving both collaboratively and independently
