Automotive Chiplet Program Manager

Automotive compute & connectivity requirements keep on growing fueled by new driver assistance functions. To build the required compute while considering the uniqueness of the segment with regards to functional safety, reliability and cost-sensitivity, the industry is investigating chiplet based methodologies. To assist the industry in tackling the unique challenges of using chiplet based methods we’re setting up an Automotive Chiplet Program. This program will focus on resolving the inhibitors to using chiplet in automotive, initially focusing on the Quality & Reliability concerns of the industry. As the Automotive Chiplet Program manager you will help with the definition of the program in collaboration with the program director & other automotive stakeholders. You will align with the expert teams, resource, and FAB managers to best implement the plan.

What you will do

To build the required compute while considering the uniqueness of the segment with regards to functional safety, reliability and cost-sensitivity, the industry is investigating chiplet based methodologies. To assist the industry in tackling the unique challenges of using chiplet based methods we’re setting up an Automotive Chiplet Program. This program will focus on resolving the inhibitors to using chiplet in automotive, initially focusing on the Quality & Reliability concerns of the industry. As the Automotive Chiplet Program manager you will help with the definition of the program in collaboration with the program director & other automotive stakeholders. You will align with the expert teams, resource, and FAB managers to best implement the plan. You will:

  • Be responsible for managing the team technically and operationally, promoting interactions and innovations. Your open communication, enthusiasm and drive will be key to create a strong team and reach your goals.
  • Together with the operational managers, monitor the performances and resources of your program and ensure to stay within agreed boundaries. You will proactively manage changes, drive the acceleration of your program activities when required, escalate show stoppers or issues within the organization, and help provide solutions.
  • The interaction with our industrial partners will be an important part of your activities. You will regularly report to our partners, help keeping a strong link with them and answering their specific requests. Twice a year, you will actively organize and chair the Partner Technical Week reviews to showcase the program results to our partners. You will also support your program director in presenting the program results to partners.
  • Seek constant improvements of both the quality and speed of our innovation. We will count on you to bring new ideas and help implementing them.

Who you are

  • Experience in managing and delivering complex projects from conception to launch.
  • Have about 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in an R&D management role or a business (management) position is a plus;
  • Have about 5 years of relevant project management experience
  • You are organized and can structure a complex project
  • Experience in writing public-funded projects is a plus;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders, internal and external customers.
  • Experience with the silicon design lifecycle and the concept of SiPs.
  • Demonstrate a clear sense of ownership with a strong drive to grow our program;
  • Given the international character of imec, good knowledge of (spoken and written) English is a must.
  • Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural team.
