RVO-Society's mission: engage the youth on an experience based manner with regards to technology and sciences.
RVO-Society was founded in 2000 to commemorate Roger Van Overstraeten, the founder and first managing director of imec. It's main partners are the Flemish government, universities, imec, Agoria, and Cera.
The core mission of RVO-Society is to engage the youth and educate young people on a relavant and experience based manner with regards to technology and sciences. The RVO-Soviety actively works on its mission through in service training to teachers or educational activities with children. The higher aim is to boost scientific literacy for all youth, a better transition into scientific studies (STEM) with the goal to have these young people working on projects for better care and climate control. RVO-Society has become an educative partner for many companies after more than 15 years of experience. RVO-Society forges bonds between innovation and education and has a growing attention for social innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation in education.
