PVD TECHNICIAN

What you will do
In imec’s state-of-the-art R&D cleanrooms, our scientists develop new leading-edge semiconductor technologies for advanced applications. The PVD technician will work in the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) engineering team, who are responsible for maintaining and repairing multiple complex pieces of equipment that are used in the development and manufacturing of these technologies. The very high level of performance expected from these pieces of equipment is dependent on the quality of their maintenance, therefore, this function is critical to the overall efficiency and success of imec’s R&D operations.The function involves the need to handle toxic materials, for which the strictest safety procedures must be adhered to. This includes the frequent need to wear breathing apparatus, for which training will be given. You will be responsible for:• Performing routine maintenance on tools following procedures. • Logistical help to support the engineers with more advanced intervention / corrective maintenance. • Working together with process and HW engineers • Executing improvement projects improve maintenance quality and efficieny• Ordering and prepare parts that are needed for Preventive maintenance.• You will work shifts (Early / Late shift) and 1/3 weekends.

Who you are
• You obtained a bachelor's degree (Electromechanics / Automation) or equivalent by experience.
• You enjoy technical and hands-on work and have a high level of attention to detail.
• You have the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately and diligently.
• You are customer and service oriented.
• You are a pragmatic problem solver; you like to find practical solutions and implement them.
• You are a team player; you are eager to learn from others but also easily share your own knowledge and expertise.
• Due the multinational nature of the PVD team and imec as a whole, a good level of written and verbal English is obligatory.
• You have passion for technology and knowledge of pneumatics / robotics / electronics.
• You are prepared to work in shift (early / Late) and 1/3 weekends.
