Process Assistant Photonics Research
Process assistant Photonics research, performing process optimization in the Photonics Research Group Ghent (PRGG).
What you will do
You will be a member of the LOC (Lab Operations&Coordination) team at imec, and will support the Photonics Research Group Ghent (PRGG) in performing process optimization and eventually upscaling of the Si photonics heterogeneous integration technology platform. In the cleanroom at the Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, you will assist in further process development of micro transfer printing technology, with the target of bringing this technology to a manufacturing-ready wafer-scale level. Together with your colleagues you will optimize the full process flow, with specific attention to the upscaling potential of the developed technology.
- You enjoy hands-on development activities, working with a set of various high-end processing tools.
- You will execute and support various process steps in semiconductor and nanotechnology
- Track and report process data, anomalies, and deviations using digital logging systems (SPC tools).
- Collaborate closely with engineers and other team members to meet weekly research targets.
- Provide feedback on potential process optimizations or tool-related issues.
- You are willing to work in a daytime early/late shift regime (6:00-14:00/14:00-22:00).

Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s degree with approximately 3-5 years relevant experience or a Master’s degree in Science or Engineering.
- You have a background in semiconductor engineering; hands-on experience in the semiconductor industry is a great plus.
- You are a team player, enjoying to push the boundaries of novel technology together with your colleagues.
- You can prioritize assignments and work independently, within the overall project scope & definition.
- You are proficient in English.
