Director Product Test, Yield & Reliability (PDT)
Drive and inspire an enthusiastic and talented team of engineers across multiple imec R&D groups developing yield and failure analysis techniques
Imec’s “Specialty Components” organization designs and manufactures highly complex and challenging Integrated Circuits for specialized niche applications. We combine Imec’s strong R&D capabilities in a.o. advanced circuit design and advanced wafer process technology and turn these into products for niche applications in the field of e.g. Life Sciences, Photonics, Sensors and Actuators : Specialty Image sensors, Specialty Detectors, Photonics, MEMS..
What you will do
As Product Design & Test (PDT) department director, you will have the opportunity to strengthen imec’s offering for niche Product development and production and to contribute to the strategy definition of the division.
You will drive and inspire an enthusiastic and talented team of engineers in the fields of competence of: Analog and Mixed-mode IC design, IC characterization, device (transistor, pixels ...) characterization, product engineering, yield optimization. Team leaders will report to you. A manager with deep technical background on specific disciplines listed above, will report to you.
In this role you will be able to bring research results to circuit design, circuit prototyping and low volume production for Imec’s strategic customers.
You will help to grow an industry compatible Product Engineering expertise center, thereby helping multiple technology groups across imec a.o. by improving the product yield and reliability.
You will also leverage and expand physical failure analysis capabilities within and outside of imec, to understand and correlate the chip failures with the process parameters in order to improve the overall yield and product reliability.
You will collaborate with multiple technology groups to understand and assist the product yield and reliability improvement.

Who you are
- You have 15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry in the fields of design, characterization, failure analysis, and product test.
- You have a solid understanding of circuit design, electrical and physical characterization, product yield engineering, and reliability concepts.
- You have experience in and are strong in people management.
- You are a strong team player who embraces respect, trust and transparency in working with people
- You challenge the technical experts and oversee that their work delivers breakthrough knowledge
- You have a strong drive to bring expert teams together to address technical challenges
- You are results- and customer-oriented and are trusted as authority in the semiconductor domain.
