You connect industrial use cases with European calls and compose winning innovation proposals. You build European consortia of innovative R&D players. You tailor the proposals to the right format for the European Commission.

Flanders Make is constantly searching for opportunities to expand its European footprint. One of the focus points is to activate European funds for our innovation ideas, and launch European projects together with technology leading companies and knowledge institutes. Your goal is to increase the hit rate of Flanders Make in the European innovation landscape.

Develop winning project proposals in European innovation programs

As an enthusiast for technical R&D projects, you;

  • Work together with Flanders Make Research Managers to set innovative project ideas in motion for European project opportunities;
  • where you focus on the coordination of the proposal writing process.

Starting from European programs and project calls you will;

  • connect industrial needs to the European calls;
  • check in with possible industrial use cases;
  • invite project partners to join and build a consortium;
  • gather relevant information related to the proposal topic;
  • animate the consortium to deliver input and translate this into the right European language;
  • set-up and manage the different consortium meetings and consolidate all the information needed for the proposal, both from academic and industrial partners;
  • manage the financial and administrative documentation of the proposal and cover the activities to prepare a grant agreement;
  • extend your network with managers of top-technology companies and knowledge institutes;
  • be our expert in European project proposal writing.

Creative writer and networker

You have:

  • Master's degree or PhD, preferably in Science (Control, Mechanical, Electrical, ….)
  • A track record of 7 to 10 years in a technical or R&D - environment;
  • Coordination skills;
  • Proven experience in European project proposal writing;
  • Affinity with the European innovation landscape;
  • Willingness to acquire deep knowledge of both Framework programs as well as Structural Funds Programs (EFRO, Interreg).

You are:

  • A good communicator, a “networker” and a bridge builder;
  • Passionate about research and new technologies;
  • An excellent synthetic writer; taking into account the evaluator mindset and scope;
  • A goal-getter;
  • Eager to learn;
  • Responsible and self-organized;
  • Mature and able to manage expectations;
  • Willing to travel in EU occasionally (10%).
