Associate Scientist (Immunology)

ReGenesys is looking for an Associate Scientist for its facility in the Bio-Incubator Heverlee (Leuven).

Role – As a member of our R&D team you will design experiments to understand the interaction of our allogeneic stem cell product, MultiStem®, with different cells of the immune system. This will lead to new insights in the mode of action of our stem cell treatment and the development of potency assays to better characterize the product.

Profile – We are looking for an Associate Scientist who understands cellular immunology, immune tolerance, and autoimmunity. You will use your extensive laboratory experience with human T-cells (culture, functional characterization, molecular profiling) and monocytes/macrophages to design complex experiments. You’re able to analyse and interpret data and draw appropriate conclusions.

Our ideal candidate,

- Has in-depth knowledge in the area of immunology and cell biology

- Is fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

- Has experience with primary cell cultures and setting up in vitro cell assays

- Has extensive experience with multicolor flow cytometry and immunoassays

- Can work collaboratively within a tight-knit team

- Has excellent communication & presentation skills

- Is highly motivated, with a self-starter work ethic

- Is well organized and delivers data in a timely manner. This is also reflected in your documentation of data, report writing and experiment planning.

- Understands fundamental scientific problems and has strong problem-solving skills

- Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is considered a plus

Education/Experience –

PhD level Scientist in immunology or cell biology

0-3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience

A record of scientific achievement demonstrated in high impact peer-reviewed publications
