This vacancy concerns a vacancy of the Leuven Institute for Research on Information Systems (LIRIS) at KU Leuven. Project
  • The specific goal of the project is to perform research on the use of analytics, deep learning and reinforcement learning for the creation, improvement and management of metadata, with the aim to improve the quality of data and metadata so that new products and services can be developed faster, and regulatory constraints can be met more easily.
  • The research will be performed in the context of the banking sector and is sponsored by ING. The project's core innovation lies in the domains of data and metadata quality and the development of intelligent learning algorithms in this domain.
  • As a PhD-student, you are expected, next to your main research tasks,  to participate in seminars and conferences, to enroll in PhD program of the Faculty of Economics, and to perform a limited amount of educational duties (e.g. supervising student master's thesis). 
Profile
Candidates preferably have a master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, (Business) Informatics, Computer Science, Commercial Engineering in Informatics, Commercial Engineering or Information Management.Excellent (honors-level) results in prior studies are required.Candidates are fluent in spoken and written English. Basic knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an asset. 
Offer

We offer a fulltime employment as a doctoral scholar for 1 year, starting February 1st, 2019 or sooner (depending on the candidate's availability), renewable till max. 4 years after positive evaluation.
