Carol Bancroft is the new Head of School of the International School Leuven

Carol brings her own expat story and extensive experience in international education with her to the existing mix of this culturally diverse school community.

Originally from the UK, with 26 years of experience in Europe and Asia, Carol brings personal and professional expertise to the role. “My children grew up here and both attended international schools, so I have witnessed this unique community from both sides of the “parent - teacher” fence. I remain eternally grateful to have had this experience as it has allowed me insight and appreciation into the crucial role that an international school plays in the lives of its students and their families. Our school remains so much more than just a school for families living overseas. It goes beyond a place of learning to a place of safety, family and home, this becomes an intangible element that we weave into the fabric of ISL.”

The school has an ethos of “Lifeworthy learning” built upon internationally recognised curricula and brings together a student community that consists of 25 nationalities with 18 native languages. Together the inspirational teaching team at ISL foster a creative and dynamic learning environment that promotes student wellbeing, academic challenge and communication skills, so necessary in today’s world. “I feel excited and proud to lead the development of this growing school.
